What Rasasi Hawas Ice actually smells like

The first thirty seconds are the point of this fragrance. Frozen apple and Italian lemon hit with a cold, almost mentholated snap — bright, a little synthetic in the way that fresh fragrances usually are, and genuinely refreshing rather than just “clean.” Star anise sits underneath and stops it from reading as a shower gel.

Around the fifteen-minute mark the edge softens. Plum and orange blossom bring a fruity sweetness, cardamom adds a dry spice, and an iced marine accord runs through the middle of it. The dry-down is where it gets wearable: musk, amber, driftwood and a mossy note that stays close to the skin and reads warm without ever getting heavy.

How it performs in Sri Lankan weather

Most fresh fragrances collapse in Colombo humidity — they flash bright for an hour and then vanish. Hawas Ice doesn’t. Expect eight to ten hours on skin, with arm’s-length projection for the first three and a close skin scent after that. Two sprays to the chest and one to the neck is plenty; four or more and it becomes loud in a small office.

It holds up on clothing considerably longer than on skin, so a spray on a collar before a long day works. Heat pushes the fruity notes forward rather than souring them, which is why it wears comfortably at midday when heavier oud-based scents don’t.

Hawas Ice vs Hawas for Him — which one?

The original Hawas for Him is the deeper, more aquatic-ozonic of the two, with cinnamon and ambergris giving it weight. Hawas Ice strips that back: colder opening, sweeter fruit, cleaner base, easier to wear in daytime heat.

• Choose Hawas for Him if you want more depth for evenings and air-conditioned settings.

Owning both is redundant unless you specifically like having a lighter and heavier version of the same idea.
